Good quality, specific details for future buyers

Yeah, I ordered some for Anime Expo last year and they got here in about 2.5 weeks. I'd probably add a few extra days for NY just in case but it wasn't too bad.

I'm torn between getting some custom Vans or trying Shoesmates. Anyone have experience with both and can say which is better for quality or design options?

Vans custom is good but Shoesmates really shines for anime stuff. Their graphic prints look way crisper for complex designs, IMO. Plus, Shoesmates sometimes has more unique base shoe styles.

I've done both. Shoesmates feels a bit more niche and tailored for the 'fan art' style. Vans is classic, but if you want something truly unique and not just a color combo, Shoesmates has more freedom for actual designs. Quality wise, both are decent for casual wear.

Are the shoes true to size or should I size up/down? My feet are kinda wide, so I'm always worried about that with online shoes.

I found them pretty true to size for me. I usually wear a 9 and the 9s I got fit perfectly. Maybe check their size chart if they have one though, just to be safe?

For my low tops, they felt spot on. If you're really worried about width, maybe compare their measurements to a pair of sneakers you already own that fit well. I didn't notice them being super narrow or anything though.

Custom items are usually tough to return anywhere. I think for Shoesmates, once you confirm the design, it's final. Might be worth double checking their policy on the site though before you order.

From what I remember reading, custom stuff isn't really returnable unless there's a defect or something. That's pretty standard for personalized items though, so make sure you love your design before you hit buy!
